Vic Lombardi starts at Altitude on Jan. 1

The word has been on the street for weeks, now Altitude Sports makes it official: Vic Lombardi, a fixture on KCNC-Channel 4 since 1998, joins Altitude Sports in 2016.

Lombardi will serve as host for Nuggets coverage. Per the Altitude announcement, “His primary role at the network will be as the Studio Host for the Pre-Game, Halftime, and Post-Game coverage of the Denver Nuggets games.”

Lombardi will also be studio host for the All Sports Summit Pro Football Edition and — more mysteriously — “take part in some further original programming soon to be aired by Altitude Sports.”

“I’m sure the effort is to expand local sports coverage beyond the KSE enterprises,” Lombardi said regarding that further programming. “I have a lot of ideas we’re discussing.

“I’m a Denver boy, born and raised. The Nuggets were my first love. I was a Nuggets ball boy when guys like Bill Hanzlik were playing. Now I get to sit next to him in studio,” Lombardi said in a statement.
