Cable TV, Radio Syndication Operator Glenn Jones Dies At 85
From All Access:
Condolences to family and friends of GLENN JONES, the entrepreneur who built a cable TV and radio syndication empire from a single cable system in COLORADO over a five decade career.
JONES died TUESDAY (7/7) at 85, reports the DENVER POST.
JONES, a lawyer, created JONES INTERCABLE in 1967, borrowing against his car to pay for the system in GEORGETOWN, CO; he sold the by-then-national operation to COMCAST in 1999. He owned JONES RADIO NETWORK, a large radio syndication company, which was sold to TRITON/DIAL GLOBAL in 2008, and also developed the cable TV network MIND EXTENSION UNIVERSITY, which led to the first accredited online-only university, JONES UNIVERSITY, in 1999.
