From the Denver Post:
Tom Martino pleads guilty to lesser charge in domestic violence case
A little more than a month away from trial, Tom "The Troubleshooter" Martino has pleaded guilty to the lesser of two charges in a domestic violence case.
Martino, 60, was arrested Dec. 21 at his home for allegedly punching his wife near Interstate 25 and Auraria Parkway.
On Friday, Martino pleaded guilty to disturbing the peace, and the assault charge was dismissed.
According to the police report, Martino was driving with his wife when they began to argue.
His wife, Holly, opened her door in an attempt to get out of the moving vehicle, but Martino reportedly put his arm around her to keep her in the vehicle, according to the police report.
They continued to argue while driving, and at some point Martino hit her in the face with a closed fist, police said.
Holly Martino was taken to a hospital for her injuries.
Martino said on Friday that he never punched his now-ex-wife Holly.
He says that he and Holly were arguing while driving that night and he was trying to restrain her because "she was drunk" and trying to get out of the moving vehicle.
He says it was when they arrived at home and continued to argue that she called police.
"It was a terrible, terrible, stupid argument, but I was not violent," Martino said. "I'm not proud of my behavior. The reason I plead guilty to disturbing the peace is because I was an idiot."
Documents show he was given a deferred one-year probation sentence for the disturbing the peace charge, which means the charge might be removed from his record if he complies with all the requirements and stays out of trouble.
Martino was also cited for harassment last year after an incident at a Douglas County restaurant, according to court records.
That charge was dismissed.
Martino filed for bankruptcy in 2011 and settled in February 2013.
Martino has been a fixture on Denver television and radio over the years. He provides consumer advice on KHOW-AM (630) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays.

Amazing, Tom pleads guilty, but never hit her. Sure Tom, keep up the lies. You are quite the man. Did Holly get her divorce attorney from refferallist.com?
