John Carlson To Retire From KVI

After 32 years across two stints at Lotus Conservative Talk 570 KVI Seattle, morning host John Carlson will retire on April 4.
Carlson joined KVI as afternoon host in 1993. Following the station’s ill-fated flip to Oldies in November 2010, Carlson would spend two years hosting a 9am-12pm show on sister News 1000 KOMO before being named morning host for the reconstituted Conservative Talk format on KVI in September 2012. Prior to joining the station, Carlson began his career working in the Reagan Administration, was President and co-founder of the. Washington Policy Center, and was a political commentator for KIRO-TV Seattle.
In making the announcement on Wednesday on-air, Carlson said, ?Since the summer of ?93, I?m probably having more fun (now) than ever before and yet despite all that, I am announcing this morning that I will be stepping away from this microphone and retiring from radio this April.?
This morning, Carlson followed-up announcing he has been named President of Bellevue WA based real estate company Kemper Development Co.
