Default 101 ESPN St. Louis Makes Morning Show Change

    From Radio Insight:

Hubbard Sports “101 ESPN” 101.1 WXOS East St. Louis has made a significant change in mornings.
“The Opening Drive” hosted by Randy Karraker, Dan McLaughlin, Brooke Grimsley and producer Matt Rocchio all exited the station following their show today. Karraker had been with the station since its flip to Sports in January 2009 and hosted afternoons before his move to mornings in May 2020. Grimsley joined the show in February 2023 after previously serving as a reporter and weekend sports anchor for KMOV-TV St. Louis, while former St. Louis Cardinals television play-by-play voice Dan McLaughlin joined the show\ for a few days each week at the start of this year.
In its place, current 10-11am “Balloon Party” host Tim McKernan will bring his “The Morning After” to WXOS to air from 7-11am. McKernan’s show previously aired on 590 KFNS and will be joined by his current co-host Doug Vaughn and producer Jackson Burkett along with current “Fox 2” KTVI Sports Director Martin Kilcoyne. McKernan joined the station in January 2022 after previously hosting at 590 KFNS and holding television roles in the market. “The Morning After” had been airing on KPNT-HD2 and YouTube from 7-10am via McKernan’s InsideSTL Enterprises.
Operations Manager Tommy Mattern said, “We?re excited to introduce The Morning After to our listeners, we believe this show will have a major impact on the morning radio landscape in St. Louis. With Tim McKernan, Martin Kilcoyne, Doug Vaughn, and Jackson Burkett on board, this show is sure to deliver the kind of sports talk and entertainment our audience craves.?
