I haven't heard anything... except if KWOF changes from country, iHeart is VERY interested in doing a country format in Denver.
I'm not sure how they will do it unless they move a signal in (translator), or change the format of an existing full-power one which is less likely since all of their FM stations are doing okay.
They recently added the iHeart country format on KPTT 95.7 FM HD-2.

Just want to update everyone on the rumored Format Change to Sports on KWOF 92.5 The Wolf. Unfortunately I don't a lot of details but Lance from Radioinsight from what I can tell (since I'm not a subscriber to his domain registerations) I do know that he is reporting that there seems to be preparations underway to do the flip to sports.

I'm hearing the flip could happen on Tuesday at 6am.

KSE just picked up rights to all Wyoming Cowboys sports through Learfield (they had been previously owned locally by KKFN/KEPN/Bonneville), but for most of the Wyoming football games this fall there is a conflict with either Colorado Avalanche or Denver Nuggets games. Getting programming beyond talk formats is always a new challenge, so this may be yet another hint the change is coming.

Tuesday makes sense. Hear me out:

1) Bo Jaxon is filling in on Altitude 950, not bad actually talking sports to be honest.
2) His co-host leaves the company after this week
3) 92.5 Got it's CP for signal upgrades this week
4) 950 has a new PD now
5) No other on-air talent is listed on the Wolf's website
6) Makes sense to do it before the Avs and Nuggets season

I can see it happening.

And 950 is advertising Wyoming football Saturday on 92.5 but there's no rapids games to conflict with so why would they do that?

Maybe they will flip it sooner... I still haven't gotten a confirmation it's happening... still all rumors, but it looks more likely than ever. ;-)

Right now they have Wyoming Football game on the Wolf. Makes me wonder how a country / sports hybrid station would work. Sports during the day and country all night and on weekends when their isn’t an Av’s game or football game to air. Maybe classic country.
