HE ALARM's MIKE PETERS' LOVE HOPE STRENGTH FOUNDATION along with the HARD ROCK CAFE, SCHOMP AUTOMOTIVE, KOOL 105, SCHOOL OF ROCK DENVER, FROM THE HIP PHOTO and THE NEGATIVE IMAGE will all join together for a day of hiking, music and remembrance at the RED ROCKS AMPHITHEATRE in COLORADO on SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1st at 9a (MT).
The nearly four-mile hike/event is part of the "Get On The List" program and will commence atop the scenic overlook of the famed venue. Throughout the trails, hikers will be treated to a series of special acoustic performances by PETERS as well as supporting artists. All trekkers are encouraged to bring along instruments to join in the music festivities of the day. Immediately following the hike, there will be a catered lunch to honor patient heroes and donors on the patio of the SHIP ROCK GRILLE. Participants will gather that evening, with special entertainment at the HARD ROCK CAFE in final celebration. Register now at www.lovehopestrength.org/rrr2016.
In 2007, PETERS, a three-time cancer survivor himself, co-founded LOVE HOPE STRENGTH, the world's leading rock 'n' roll cancer foundation. Inspired by the powerful words he had written decades earlier, the charity unites rock stars and global citizens with a shared love of music and passion for saving lives, one concert at a time.
The "Get On The List" program registers people to the international donor registry by hosting cheek swab drives at concerts and music festivals with the support of many world renowned artists including ROBERT PLANT, KENNY CHESNEY, ENRIQUE IGLESIAS and LINKIN PARK, among others, in the wilderness and at world-class music festivals such as LOLLAPALOOZA, AUSTIN CITY LIMITS and U.K.'s ISLE OF WIGHT. Since 2008, LHSF has added over 150,000 music fans to the international bone marrow registry resulting in 3,000 potentially life-saving matches. For more information, please visit www.lovehopestrength.org.
PETERS is currently on tour in NORTH AMERICA as part of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of THE ALARM's iconic "Spirit Of '86" concert that was beamed to the world via satellite (one of the first live satellite broadcasts ever) and played live on MTV.
