Amazing Race, last season’s winners Josh and Brent
CBS will hold a casting call for teams interested in trying out for “The Amazing Race” on Thursday, Jan. 24, at Sports Authority at Southlands (http://www.shopsouthlands.com/directions), 6155 S. Main Street, near South Aurora Parkway and Orchard Road. They’ve even got an automotive sponsor attached, so the event is a commercial from top to bottom.
Teams can start lining up at 8 a.m. although the process won’t begin until 10. The first 200 teams get to try out on camera. Per the release, “each team will have one minute to creatively express why they should be considered.” Props allowed.
Scanning the list of contestants over the seasons, there haven’t been many from Colorado. Fran and Barry Lazurus represented in season 9 from Silverthorne, Marggie and Luke Adams from Colorado Springs in seasons 14 and 18, Daniel Gale from Crested Butte in season 21, and “Abba” Abbattista last season. So why not another Colorado team?
