Due to demand, IMAX has extended the dates and added a number of cities to its planned "Game of Thrones" premieres, including Denver.
The hype-fest won’t offer much in the way of clues to the coming season. A preview clip is all that will be unveiled from season 5, in addition to two episodes from season 4, will be shown on IMAX screens Jan. 29 through Feb. 5. Still, this marks a first for a TV show, allowing the expensive HBO content to be shown in all its stunning clarity.
Tickets go on sale on www.imax.com/gameofthrones starting Friday, Jan. 16.
IMAX says this theatrical release will be “digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology.”
