94.9 K235BT Masonville/Fort Collins has launched as “Christmas 94.9” under Clear Channel’s programming.
The translator, owned by Mountain Community Translators has completed its upgrade from 65 to 99 watts at 333.9 meters which will put a city grade signal over Fort Collins and Loveland. The translator had previously been rebroadcasting EMF Broadcasting’s “K-Love” via 91.1 KLDV Morrison/Denver. The application for the upgrade identified News/Talk 600 KCOL as the intended station to rebroadcast upon completion of the upgrade, however it is instead rebroadcasting the HD-2 subchannel of 107.9 KPAW.

Well, they get the grand prize of being the first and true christmas station on the air! Next up Tri-102.5 and KOSI.
So they wanted to put KCOL on FM? I would think KIIX would be more suited for the FM instead of KCOL!
So KPAW HD2 is playing christmas music? Damn, talk about early.

How does it sound? I can tune in KPAW HD-2 from here and it sounds really tinny and like a badly compressed mp3. Also, it is in mono.

Now that christmas music is has been put away for another year, and since we all had no idea what 94.9 would have become around midnight of the 25th.

Well for the first time in Northern Colorado, we have our very own Fox Sports Radio station at 94.9. To bad they decided against on simlucasting KCOL, that would have worked to.

Interesting changes in Ft. Fun... Sports is a hot format right now... as I said in the Jim Rome thread (http://www.coloradomedia.net/forums/showthread.php?7453-Jim-Rome-to-stay-on-KEPN-1600-(The-Zone)-in-Denver-will-be-on-KFKA-1310-AM-Ft-Collins-Greeley-after-switch-to-CBS-Sports-Radio-Network), I think that KFKA 1310 AM in Fort Collins may also go all sports on January 2nd...
