Spark Relief, a Colorado nonprofit that creates digital tools for use in disaster relief, will be featured on a new HLN TV docu-series, “Growing America: A Journey to Success.” The series premieres Nov. 16.
Entrepreneur Eli Hayes, founder of Spark Relief, is featured. During the Colorado wildfires, Hayes witnessed members of his Boulder community spending “more time finding out how to contribute time and resources than actually contributing.” Today, Spark Relief’s 20+ volunteers have assisted more than a quarter of a million people through apps Hayes created to help in disaster relief coordination.
The six-episode series hosted by Ty Pennington (“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”) follows teams of MBA students from the MBAs Across America (MBAxAmerica) program, who are given a week to transform businesses and positively affect communities in cities across the U.S.
Spark Relief is one of three businesses featured on “Growing America,” an HLN production in partnership with Holiday Inn (pushing the idea that the hotel chain is interested in helping small businesses*).
