With its purchase of three stations and a translator in WYOMING from CAROL CARROLL, WIND RIVER COMMUNICATIONS, INC, and CARJIM LLC, EDWARDS COMMUNICATIONS is flipping the formats of two of the new acquisitions.
AC KTRZ/RIVERTON, WY is flipping to Rock as "WIND RIVER'S ROCK," while Country KWYW (Y99)/RIVERTON, WY is going with Sports using ESPN RADIO. Classic Country KDNO (DINO 101.7) and Adult Standards KTHE-A/THERMOPOLIS, WY remain in their present formats, although the company, which will operate the stations along with its existing Country KTAK and Talk KVOW-A as the "WIND RIVER RADIO NETWORK," says "future plans for KTHE are being developed."
GM RAY RINTAMAKI said, “The entire staff is excited about the additional offerings and choices for local radio listeners. We are going to encourage folks to give us a listen by kicking things off with a $10,000 giveaway on the new stations, with cash prizes each weekday and a grand prize of $2,500 to be given away at the FREMONT COUNTY Fair later this summer. We’ll also be able to broadcast more area team’s sports as well as fill listeners in on events and happenings across the entire WIND RIVER RADIO NETWORK listening area.”
