Denver is among the 11 cities participating in “Your Day, Your City, Your Future,” on Saturday, April 26. Amateur and professional filmmakers are invited to use whatever recording devices they can to chronicle a day in the life of our town. The project is a local-level follow-up to the One Day on Earth Foundation’s previous global filming events (on 10/10/10, 11/11/11, and 12/12/12).
Click here for instructions/suggestions for filming the day in Denver. Organizers say they expect to see images of folks with fresh produce in Detroit, the influx of charter schools in New Orleans, the tech boom and local arts culture in San Francisco, recycling by ex-cons in Los Angeles* Let’s guess what images, besides mountains, might turn up in Denver, home of legal recreational marijuana and already a subject of media fascination.
The goal of “Your Day, Your City, Your Future” is to become a TV series. The release says the project is supported by a coalition of national and local foundations, including the Annenberg Foundation, the Ford Foundation and the Surdna Foundation and is hosted in partnership with the video-sharing platform Vimeo.
Among the advisors for the Denver project is Oscar-winning filmmaker Daniel Junge.
