The “American Ninja Warrior” (http://www.nbc.com/american-ninja-warrior/) two-hour special Monday, “USA vs Japan,” (http://www.nbc.com/american-ninja-warrior/) in which the USA was victorious, featured two Colorado ninja warriors: Brian Arnold from Brighton and Paul Kasemir from Longmont. Both stood proudly with the other three members of Team USA and bowed graciously to their opponents, Team Japan, when it was all over.
See their previous qualifying performances here (http://www.nbc.com/american-ninja-warrior/video/paul-kasemir-at-the-american-ninja-warrior-2013-denver-finals/n39970/) and here (http://www.nbc.com/american-ninja-warrior/video/brian-arnold-at-the-american-ninja-warrior-2013-national-finals-stage-3/n40813/).
Arnold, 5’11, 165 lbs., is a 35-year-old maintenance director at a nursing home. He handles everything from fixing wheelchairs and hearing aids to chatting with residents. He graduated from Sinclair Community college in Dayton, Ohio. According to his NBC bio, “he is an avid and professional rock climber – can do one arm, one pinkie pull ups.” He also enjoys playing chess. Arnold raveled to Ethiopia in 2011 to help orphanages and hand out new shoes to children.
Kasemir, 5’11, 150 lbs, 27-year-old software engineer, is a graduate of the University of Colorado Boulder. Hh has been to Japan through “ANW” and was on Seasons 2, 3, 4 & 5. He can dance the Argentine Tango and is a good singer. Also a track and field runner who enjoys mountain biking, climbing, Kung Fu, hiking and parkour.
Casting hasn’t begun on the new season, but it’s possible one or both Coloradans could return.
In the Nielsens, the special helped power NBC to a strong rating for the night, even without “The Voice,” giving a push to the drama “Blacklist,” which returned to win the timeslot.
