CLEAR CHANNEL Active Rock KBPI/DENVER's "Hand That Feeds" community food drive for the DENVER RESCUE MISSION took an unusual turn when employees at CQL 2000 CONSTRUCTION, dropping off food at the pre-THANKSGIVING event, heard host WILLIE B told about a woman's response to his tweet, "If money was no object, what would you do?," requesting carpet for her grandmother's house. When WILLIE B looked into her story, he found that when she was 7 years old, STACY, the woman, and her younger siblings wer left to be raised by her grandparents after their single mother was murdered; her grandfather had Parkinson's, was in a wheelchair, and then died seven years later. Her grandmother never had the money to fix up her house; now 89, her home needs much repair.

When they heard the story, the construction workers immediately swung into action to offer STACY's grandmother a new furnace, carpet, plumbing fixtures, paint, electrical work, cabinets, countertops, new appliances, and clean up, and this week, the project is coming to a conclusion. Meanwhile, STACY's grandmother, being put up by the station at a hotel with meals and spa services, knows she's getting new carpet but is as yet unaware that her entire house is getting a makeover. The unveiling is coming on THURSDAY at noon.
