Cumulus will become the syndicator for the new 24/7 "CBS Sports Radio" that is launching on January 2nd, 2013. In addition, Cumulus will make CBS Sports Radio programming available on 67 of its owned stations. At launch, CBS Sports Radio will reach listeners in nine of the nation’s Top 10 markets, with a cumulative audience reach at debut close to 10 million listeners – nearly 90% of them located in Top 50 markets. KCSF 1300 AM in Colorado Springs is one of the Cumulus stations that will broadcast CBS Sports Radio programming. It will be interesting to see how this effects other radio networks like Yahoo Sports Radio.

It will be interesting to see when and if a Denver station joins this new network. With 104.3 and 1600 both carrying Fox Sports Radio, one has to possibly think one of those frequencies is among the more likely options for this new CBS Sports Radio in greater Denver area market, resulting in a split feed on those two local Lincoln sports talk radio outlets. Lincoln did carry both Fox and ESPN until the beginning of this year as most recall. Another possibility is Mile High Sports. With the 1510 and 93.7 frequencies simulcasting, would MHS consider separate feeds at times when they are not in local programming ? One would think a local Clear Channel station will not be participating in this new programming thrust. The probable placement of the newly announced NBC Sports Radio Network in this market will also play a significant role in the course of events ahead as well.
