Oakland previously spent her entire career in Colorado Springs starting at 100.7 KATM Pueblo followed by Country 101.9 KKCS from 1996 to 2000 before moving to AC ?92.9 Peak-FM? KKPK as morning host from 2001 to 2010. She moved to iHeart AC “Sunny 106.3” KKLI in 2011 as morning co-host and then served as APD/afternoon from 2018 until exiting in the company’s August round of layoffs (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/277568/iheartmedia-makes-programming-cuts/).
Oakland, who fills the opening created by Melissa Moore’s move (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/282219/dom-testa-melissa-moore-to-host-mornings-at-kxkl/) to KSE Media Classic Hits “Kool 105” KXKL as morning co-host in October, commented, ?I am so thrilled to be on air in Denver. I have been fortunate enough to spend my entire radio career in Colorado and it is an honor to join the legendary team of KOSI.”
New KOSI Program Director Brian Michel added, “Adding talent like Tammy to the already extraordinary team on KOSI will ensure that the brand keeps it?s spot as Denver?s most listened to radio station!?
Michel will continue to also program Country 98.5 KYGO (https://kygo.com) as he has since April 2019 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/176476/brian-michel-named-program-director-of-kygo-denver/). He previously has served as Regional Senior VP of Programming for iHeartMedia Atlanta and PD of Country ?94.9 The Bull? WUBL, Operations Manager for Simmons Media Salt Lake City and Program Director of Rhythmic CHR ?U92? 92.5 KXUU and VP/Programming for Kovas Communications Fort Wayne IN. He also programmed short-lived CHR ?U102? 102.1 KXUU Denver in the early 2000s.
Michel succeeds Jim Lawson who had programmed KOSI since December 2017 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/121929/jim-lawson-program-kosi-101-denver/). Lawson had programmed in Denver since 1998 with previous roles as PD of Hot AC ?Alice 105.9? KALC from 1998-2000, CHR ?95.7 Kiss-FM? KFMD from 2001-2005, VP/Programming of iHeartMedia Denver from 2005-2015 and Regional VP/Programming until 2017. He also has worked on-air at KIMN Denver, WGN and WBBM-FM Chicago, WVIC Lansing, and WLUM Milwaukee during his career.
