The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand reports (https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5972432/2024/12/05/michael-kay-show-new-york-radio-espn/) that Michael Kay will move from the 3-7pm “Michael Kay Show” that he currently hosts with Don LaGreca and Peter Rosenberg to a solo 1-3pm show. Kay, also the television voice of the New York Yankees, first joined then “ESPN 1050” in 2002 with the show simulcast on the YES Network since 2014.
The Athletic report says that current 12-3pm co-host Alan Hahn is expected to replace Kay in afternoons with LaGreca and Rosenberg remaining although no deals have been finalized. Hahn’s 12-3pm co-host, former NFL linebacker Bart Scott, would move to 10am to 1pm with current night host Dan Graca with the new lineup set to launch on Monday, January 6. Rick DiPietro and Dave Rothenberg would remain in mornings from 6-10am and play-by-play from the New York Knicks and Rangers as well as Audacy’s overriding New York Mets baseball coverage filling most evenings.
