Now positioning as “Peoria’s Alternative”, the flip marks the third time an Alternative Rock format was featured on the frequency. Cumulus Media Rock “105.7 The X (https://www.1057thexrocks.com)” WIXO originally launched on 99.9 as an Alternative station before moving to 105.7 and gradually moving to Rock in the 2000s. The 99.9 frequency would briefly return to Alternative as “The Buzz” from 2008-10 between stints as AAA.
WWCT had a 2.0 share in the Fall 2023 Nielsen Audio ratings.
