Regional Media flipped WJSE to Country this morning as “Coast Country 106.3 (http://1063coastcountry.com)” under new/old WKOE call letters. The WKOE calls and a Country format were first paired together on the former 106.3 in Ocean City NJ from 1992 until 1998. That station would keep the calls under multiple formats until 2006 when they move to the current station (at the time on 106.7) from 2008 until 2010 as the first iteration of “Coast Country“.
The flip to Country makes it the third Country signal in the Atlantic City/Cape May market joining ownsquare Media’s “Cat Country 107.3 (https://catcountry1073.com)” WPUR Atlantic City and Rick Brancandora’s “Hot Country 101 (https://www.wibg.com/hotcountry101)” 1020 WWAC Ocean City-Somers Point and three translators. The station creates a “Coast” branding combo with sister AC “98.7
An unrelated “Coast Country 103.9/106.3 (https://www.coastcountry.com)” is operated by Draper Media right across the Delaware Bay on WRDE-FM Berlin/WCEM-FM Cambridge MD.
