The new format creates a direct format competitor to JAM Media Solutions’ “99.1 The Sound (https://991thesound.com)” WVOD Manteo. Positioning as “Experience The Music”, the new brand is featuring core artists including Black Pumas, The Lumineers, Inhaler, The Black Keys, Bob Marley, Dave Matthews, Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam, and Nirvana.
Operations Manager Bill Thomas stated, “We?ve heard your requests for a radio station that reflects the unique spirit of the Outer Banks. 98.1 The OBX delivers just that ? a curated playlist that complements the coastal lifestyle and provides a much-needed alternative.”
