https://radioinsight.com/wp-content/images/2024/03/wspafm-200x200.jpgAfter placing the station (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/266170/audacy-files-with-fcc-to-move-stations-out-of-bankruptcy-protection-places-one-in-divestiture-trust/) in a divestiture trust on March 15, Audacy has found a buyer for AC “Magic 106.3 (https://www.audacy.com/magic1063)” WSPA-FM Simpsonville/Greenville SC.
Norsan Media will acquire WSPA-FM for $700,000 and begin operating it via a Time Brokerage Agreement on Monday, April 1. The sale was required as part of Audacy’s bankruptcy restructuring due to changes in the amount of stations in the Greenville/Spartanburg market requiring Audacy to divest one of its stations.
Norsan already owns Regional Mexican “La Raza 105.7 (https://larazalaraza.com/greenville/)” 910 WOLI/105.7 W289BS Spartanburg.
Audacy moved the AC format to 106.3 from 98.9 Spartanburg one year ago today (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/249475/magic-98-9-and-106-3-word-to-swap-frequencies/) with Conservative Talk WYRD-FM moving in the opposite direction. The move downgraded “Magic” to the 25kW/100m (https://fccdata.org/?lang=en&appid=56c7edb98b054230a986c1b6063ebeb7&fa cid=53623). The station currently ranks tenth in the Greenville/Spartanburg market with a 3.3 share in the February 2024 Nielsen Audio ratings (https://radioinsight.com/ratings/greenville-spartanburg/).
