https://radioinsight.com/wp-content/images/2020/05/fccseal2020-200x200.pngThe FCC is opening up a comment period for a proposed rulemaking amending the FM Table of Allotments in Mattoon IL.
The rulemaking proposes to downgrade the vacant allotment on 96.9 in Mattoon from a Class B to B1 as the commission’s analysis found the allotment short-spaced to Champaign Multimedia Group’s 97.5 WHMS-FM Champaign by ten kilometers. Their engineering analysis will keep the allotment consistent with the minimum distance separation requirements with a site restriction 7.6 miles southeast of the city. The allotment was made available by the cancellation of Mattoon Broadcasting Company?s WLBH-FM in April 2018 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/167974/fcc-report-4-22-agency-to-adjust-translator-interference-rules/).
License CancellationsSaga Communications has requested the cancellation (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/266512/saga-surrenders-bellingham-am/) of 930 KBAI Bellingham WA as it moves its programming to an HD subchannel.
The Estate of Mark Aulabaugh turns in the licenses of Silent 1230 KSEY/105.7 K289CP and 94.3 KSEY-FM Seymour TX. The stations went silent last Spring after Aulabaugh’s death and the station’s engineer shut down the stations and removed their equipment.
