The duo had hosted mornings at the station since January 2021 following the retirement of Van Harden (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/197740/who-morning-host-van-harden-to-retire/) after 35 years in mornings.
Schaeffer joined iHeartMedia Des Moines in 2018 as Director of Promotions and Marketing and hosting a Saturday morning show on WHO after previously spending 23 years in mornings at Saga Classic Hits 93.3 KIOA. He is a member of the Iowa Rock n? Roll Hall of Fame and was also hosting afternoons at iHeart Variety Hits “100.3 The Bus (https://thebusfm.iheart.com)” KDRB Des Moines.
Sweet co-hosted mornings at KIOA with Schaeffer from 2006 until 2018 and remained at the station until 2020. Prior to joining KIOA, she spent eight years in mornings at CHR 98.5 KLUC Las Vegas after starting her career at then Alternative 107.5 KKDM Des Moines.
