https://radioinsight.com/wp-content/images/2023/03/erickerickson-200x200.jpgerick Following the cancellation (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/265526/mark-kaye-show-exits-wokv-other-cox-talkers/) of Mark Kaye’s Jacksonville based show last week, Cox Media Group has announced that Compass Media Networks’ Erick Erickson Show (https://www.erickerickson.com) will replace it in the 12-3pm timeslot at 104.5 WOKV-FM (https://www.wokv.com) Jacksonville and 1290 WHIO/95.3 WHIO-FM (https://www.whio.com/whio-radio/) Dayton OH and from 11am-2pm at 740 KRMG/102.3 KRMG-FM (https://www.krmg.com) Tulsa. The three stations current air Erickson’s syndicated show in evenings.
Starting out as a conservative blogger, Erickson’s radio career began in 2011 hosting nights at Cox’s 750 WSB/95.5 WSBB Atlanta. He moved up to afternoons the following year and then into the 12-3pm timeslot following the 2021 death of Rush Limbaugh. His WSB show was syndicated to other Cox stations and joined Compass Media Networks in March 2023 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/249510/compass-media-networks-to-syndicate-erick-erickson-show/). He also previously hosted a separate late morning show for stations across the state of Georgia.
Cox Media Group EVP Rob Babin comments, “We’re excited to transition Erick to prime dayparts in these key markets. He has a proven track record of delivering compelling content and ratings and will continue to captivate new audiences across CMG markets.” SVP/Audience and Programming Chris Eagan adds, “We?re committed to providing our listeners with the best radio experience possible, and we believe these changes will enhance our programming lineup. Erick has earned a deep and loyal following everywhere he?s been, and we know that will continue as he expands to new markets.”
