Ronnie Lane will move off the afternoon show to take over as host of the Tampa Bay Rays pre-game show “The Inside Pitch”, while continuing with his roles for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers radio network as well. Lane is a longtime voice in the Tampa Bay market dating back to his time as ‘Night Train’ on CHR “Q105” WRBQ in the 1980s and also spent time at SiriusXM’s MLB Network Radio. He and Tome Krasniqi first were teamed at 1040 WHBO in 2012 before moving to WDAE in 2014.
Krasniqi remains in afternoons along with Executive Producer Chris Mathis for a new show in development.
?We couldn?t be more excited for Ronnie and Tom as they embark on their new opportunities at WDAE,? said Program Director John Mamola. ?These programs promise fresh content and compelling, engaging experiences for our listeners. We will continue the legacy of high performance the hosts built as a duo and the voice of Tampa Bay sports fanatics everywhere.?
The duo had just agreed to contract extensions last fall. The final “Ronnie & TKras” show will air on Wednesday, March 27.
