Joey & Kelsey O?Rourke’s JKO Media will purchase the company’s three stations in the Terre Haute IN market for an undisclosed amount. JKO will add ock “92.7 The Rock (https://www.927therock.com)” WFNB Brazil, Classic Country “105.5 The Legend (https://www.wvigthelegend.com)” WIVG West Terre Haute, and Soft AC “The Breeze (https://www.wambradio.com)” 1130 WAMB/99.5 W258BA Terre Haute and 106.9 W295CQ Brazil. The company owns Classic Hits 105.9 WMMC (https://wmmcradio.com) Marshall IL just to the west of Terre Haute where Joey O’Rourke also hosts mornings.
Scott Huber and Johnny McCrory’s 3 Towers Broadcasting will add Classic Country “The Legend” 910 WAKO/99.3 W257DW and AC “Lite Hits 103.1 (https://www.wakoradio.com)” WAKO-FM Lawrenceville IL/Vincennes IN and Classic Hits “Superhits 104.9 (https://www.1049waxi.com)” WAXI Rockville IN along with two real estate properties for $1,010,000. 3 Towers Broadcasting owns multiple stations and web publications in Indiana operating under the “Giant FM (https://giant.fm)” brand including Hot AC 92.1 WROI Rochester, AC 94.3 WREB Greencastle, Country 1520 WSVX/96.5 W243CL/106.3 W292FH Shelbyville, and leasing ahead of purchasing Hot AC 1050 WTCA/106.1 W291BQ Plymouth.
DLC Media also operates Rock “96.7 The Rock (https://www.967therock.com)” WFML Vincennes IN under Time Brokerage Agreement from Vincennes University Foundation. Crooks notes that 3 Towers is interested in a similar arrangement to operate the station.
Crooks began his broadcasting career in 1980 at WNDI Sullivan IN at the age of 16 and has owned stations since 1999. He served in the Indiana House of Representatives from 1996 to 2008 and unsuccessfully ran for Congress in 2012. In a press release he noted, “?I am ready to slow down and knock more items off my bucket list. It?s been a great ride. I am confident I am leaving the stations, staff, and the communities they serve in good hands?.
