Nixon was first known as a rockabilly artist with partner Skid Roper and solo with songs such as ?Elvis is Everywhere?, ?Debbie Gibson is Pregnant with My Two-Headed Lovechild?, ?Burn Down the Malls?, and “Don Henley Must Die”. Nixon also had roles in multiple movies including Great Balls of Fire!, Rock ‘n’ Roll High School Forever, and the original live-action Super Mario Brothers as Toad.
Nixon then moved to radio first hosting afternoons at Talk 700 WLW Cincinnati for a couple weeks before moving to mornings at Rock 102.7 WEBN from 1998 to 2003. He would then spend two years in afternoons at Classic Rock 101.5 KGB-FM San Diego before jumping to Sirius in 2005 where he hosted afternoons on “Outlaw Country” until his passing. During his tenure at SiriusXM, Nixon would also host a political talk show ‘Lying Cocksuckers’ on “Raw Dog Comedy” and ‘Manifold Destiny with Mojo Nixon’ on “SiriusXM NASCAR Radio“.
