The most recent sale attempt was in March 2022 to Dennis and Lucas Carpenter?s Carpenter Broadcasting LLC for $55,000.
Following FCC inquiries into its operating status went unanswered, Cape Cod Regional Tech High School’s 90.3 WCCT-FM Harwich MA has been cancelled. WCCT-FM stated in its February 2022 license renewal application that the building that housed the station and its public file had been destroyed during construction of a new school, and that replacing the studio facility was a low priority. It also noted that it claimed in the renewal that the station was silent, although no STA was ever filed. It was sent a letter in November requesting more information within 45 days that went unanswered.
FCC ActionsWJAG Inc. will pay an $8000 fine as the FCC discovered that the company went through three unauthorized transfers of control. The company, which owns News/Talk 780 WJAG (https://www.norfolkneradio.com/wjag/)/105.9 K290AT Norfolk, AC 97.5 KEXL (https://www.norfolkneradio.com/kexl/) Pierce, and Country “106 Kix (https://www.norfolkneradio.com/106kix/)” 106.7 KQKX Norfolk, three times transferred controlling stakes in the company into different trusts. The first in 2017, saw 53% voting stake transferred by Eugene and Karla Huse to WJAG Voting Trust headed by their son William Huse. In 2018, the shares were then transferred to the W.H. Huse Revocable Trust also without FCC authorization, and then in 2019 they were transferred a third time to the W.H. Huse Living Trust. The first FCC filing addressing the transfers was made in November 2021 with an amendment identifying the earlier transfers filed in March 2022.
