Alexander, who celebrated his 40th anniversary at the station last May, also serves as Operations Manager for Alpha Media Hagerstown. He began at what was then (http://user.pa.net/~ejjeff/wikzhistory1.html) Top 40 “WIKZ 95” as overnight host and moved to MD/nights later that year. He became afternoon host when the station rebranded as “Z95” in 1984 and rose to PD/mornings the following year. Harding joined WIKZ to replace Alexander in afternoons in 1985 and would then be paired with him in 1986. The couple have been married since 1990 lasting through the station’s 1992 flip to AC “Mix 95” and 1995 move to Hot AC.
In making the announcement on-air on Friday (https://www.mix95.com/rick-lisa-on-demand/). Alexander stated that he has found it hard to keep his energy emphasizing that it was his decision. Harding followed-up, “I’m still good to go so this is a little heart-breaking for me to come to terms with, but I see where you need a break and I see the toll that this place and lots of things people don’t know or understand or don’t care about are taking a toll on you. So it’s always been the Rick & Lisa Show not the Lisa show so what’s best for the brand Rick & Lisa at this point is to refuel and retool and who knows what’s next.”
