The station’s format remains as-is positioned as “La Mezcla de Boston” with a mix of Spanish Hip Hop, Salsa and Pop. The Boston Spanish CHR market has become more competitive with Gois Broadcasting’s “Mega (https://www.megaboston.com/megaboston)” 890 WAMG moving it FM signal from the south-suburban 94.9 W235CS to the downtown 96.5 W243DC at the start of the year and iHeartMedia’s “Rumba 97.7 (https://rumba977.iheart.com)” WZRM in-place.
The former “LatinX” brand launched in August 2021 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/211380/lma-to-buy-brings-latinx-103-7-to-bostons-northern-suburbs/) when Jose Villafa?e?s Costa Media began operating the unrelated Costa-Eagle Radio Ventures owned WCCM via LMA. Co-owned WUBG was added in 2022.
