Keeping its prior branding and format, the new “104.7 The Flame (https://theflame1047.com)” debuted today under Program Director Reggie Dee. Dee previously spent fifteen years across town at Hubbard Adult R&B “X102.3 (https://www.x1023.com)” WMBX from 2006 until 2022 after beginning his career on-air and in promotions at Radio One and Service Broadcasting. He has served as Director of Strategic Marketing for Freeman’s Freeman Injury Law since departing WMBX.
WFLM will also carry Reach Media’s Rickey Smiley Morning Show in mornings. The new format creates a direct format competitor to Hubbard’s market leading WMBX, which had an 8.7 share in the December 2023 Nielsen Audio ratings (https://radioinsight.com/ratings/west-palm-beach/).
JDD Radio LLC acquired WFLM from Midway Broacasting Company for $3.75 million in April 2023 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/251075/injury-attorney-acquires-west-palm-beach-move-in/). The station is now operating as a Class C2 with 50kW/113m (https://fccdata.org/?lang=en&appid=25076ff38bd01f3c018bde5bd0ba07c6&fa cid=42065).
