Ski joined WALR in February 2021 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/202335/kiss-104-1-atlanta-adds-frank-ski-show-for-mornings/) after the end of his second stint at Audacy’s “V103” WVEE came to an end in July 2020. Ski hosted mornings on WVEE from from 1998 until 2012 and then again from 2018 to 2020. While the Atlanta morning show comes to an end, Ski and longtime producer/co-host Nina Brown will continue to host their Oceanic Tradewinds and Compass Media Networks syndicated afternoon show based at 96.3 WHUR (https://whur.com/shows/the-frank-ski-show-w-nina-brown/) Washington DC. Ski began the afternoon show in July 2020 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/193849/frank-ski-joins-whur-for-afternoons/) with Compass launching the syndication (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/244113/compass-media-networks-to-rep-frank-ski-show/) in October 2022
Prior to his time in Atlanta, Ski spent a decade in Baltimore working at ?V103? WXYV and ?92Q? WERQ where he was also influential in the then strong Baltimore house music scene of the late 80s and early 90s. His 1993 song ?Whores in This House? was notably sampled in Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion?s ?WAP?.
Legendary Atlanta radio personality Frank Ski and WALR have agreed to part ways following completion of Frank Ski’s 3 year run in Atlanta.
Ski also does a highly rated afternoon show on WHUR in DC which is syndicated nationally through Compass Media Networks and Oceanic Tradewinds on 15 plus stations.
Frank Ski says, ?Though it’s going to be difficult parting ways with all my friends at CMG, I’m really excited about starting a new chapter in Atlanta. I’m equally excited about expanding my syndication to even greater heights and really super serving all our affiliates. Radio continues to motivate me every day as I feel a responsibility to help educate and entertain our communities while also giving back and making a difference.?
Additionally in the works for 2024 for Frank Ski is the “Inspirational Vitamin” book based off his legendary daily radio benchmark as well as 2 full length musical albums: The Climate Change and the 25th Anniversary of Frank Ski ‘s musical compilation.
