Carson was announced as the new morning host on WIXX on December 15 following the retirement of Jim Murphy in October after 32 years (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/259454/jim-murphy-to-retire-from-wixx-after-32-year-run/) in the timeslot. Murphy’s co-hosts Katie Schurk and Nick Vitrano had departed the week prior and have since been announced (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/262944/katie-schurk-nick-vitrano-to-join-otis-day-in-mornings-at-wksz/) to be joining Woodward Community Media?s crosstown “95.9 Kiss-FM (https://www.959kissfm.com)” WKSZ following the completion of their non-competes.
WIXX Brand Manager Corey Carter told WLUK-TV (https://fox11online.com/news/local/chris-carson-departs-from-wixx-fm-morning-show-after-just-one-month-jim-murphy-radio-katie-schurk-nick-virano), ?After careful consideration, we have decided to move in a different direction with WIXX mornings. We thank Chris Carson for his contribution during his time here and wish him the best. At this point we have no comment on the future of the show, but we’ll have more information soon!?
Carson previously served as APD/Imaging Director at ?Great Country 101.9? WDEZ Wausau WI from 2001 to 2010. He also worked at Cumulus Media Country 99.5 WPKR Appleton WI from 2012 to 2017. He has been working in local real estate since then.
