KSMG has rebranded as “Hits 105.3 (http://hits1053sanantonio.com)” positioning as “San Antonio’s Hottest Music”. The station’s playlist continue to focus on music from 2010 until now. The station is emphasizing itself as a “new station for the new year”. Morning hosts Jenny Lee and Tony Valdez remain in place.
The rebrand brings an end to the “Magic” branding that had been in place on the station since 1985 through iterations as Oldies, AC and Hot AC. KSMG was seventh in the San Antonio market with a 4.8 share in the November 2023 Nielsen Audio (https://radioinsight.com/ratings/san-antonio/) ratings well ahead of iHeartMedia CHR “Now 96.1 (https://961now.iheart.com)” KXXM’s 20th ranked 2.2 share.
