View Full Version : Scott Hopeck & Kim Guthrie To Leave iHeartMedia Executive Positions

In an internal memo announcing those changes, iHeartMedia Chairman/CEO Bob Pittman and President/COO Rich Bressler announced that Scott Hopeck and Kim Guthrie will be departing the company.
Hopeck has spent 20 years with the company first serving as General Manager of the Atlanta Braves Radio Network from 2004-06. He rose to Atlanta market SVP of Sales, and company-wide Enterprise Captain of the Home Improvement Sector from 2007-12 followed by Phoenix Market President from 2012-15 and New York Market President from 2015 to 2019. He has served as Division President of the Markets Group overseeing some of the company’s biggest markets since.
In the memo, Pittman/Bressler note, “Scott Hopeck, who has been one of our Region Presidents and, before that, successfully led important Markets, is leaving iHeart to pursue a new opportunity. We know you will join us in wishing him all the best and congratulating him on his many accomplishments at Heart. We thank him for his important contributions during his career with us.”

Guthrie began her career as a television news reporter and later held news, sales and management positions in Milwaukee and Minneapolis before joining Cox as General Manager of WBAB/WBLI Long Island in 1998. She later rose to EVP/Radio for the company and then EVP/National Ad Platforms overseeing CoxReps and Gamut. She was promoted to President of the company at the end of 2016 and added the CEO title following the acquisition of the company by Apollo Global Management in 2019.
Pittman and Bressler’s memo states that Guthrie will become “a Strategic Advisor to iHeart for the next three years. We continue to be extremely appreciative of Kim’s extraordinary experience and expertise in navigating us through the post-pandemic world. We are lucky to have had her leadership at such a critical time and we thank her for her commitment; we’re very pleased that she will continue to work with us to keep iHeart at the forefront of innovation.”
