The flip took place at noon today launching with Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine’s “Conga” and Bryan Adams “(Everything I Do) I Do It For You”. The station is positioning as “Tus Favoritas de Siempre” with core artists listed as Whitney Houston, Marc Anthony, Madonna, Lionel Richie, Shakira, Michael Jackson, and Celine Dion. The station is launching with the usual 10,000 songs in a row commercial free.
The station will feature Humberto ‘El Gato’ Rodr?guez in mornings from 6-10am. He previously has worked in the market as morning host at 94.9 WZTA and 95.7 WRMA. Ailyn Luaces will host middays from 10am to 3pm followed by Tony Vargas from 3-7pm. Santiago Duarte will host nights from 7pm to 12am and Sarykarmen in overnights.
WMIA-FM registered a 2.1 share in the October 2023 Nielsen Audio ratings ranking 20th overall in the market.
