Layfield joined the company in March 2018 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/167236/boomer-joins-cumulus-as-indianapolis-om-wfms-pd/) as OM of Cumulus’ then three station cluster and WFMS PD. He would become co-OM following the company’s 2019 acquisition of Entercom’s Indianapolis stations and assume the full role (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/221470/christopher-boomer-layfield-rises-to-cumulus-indianapolis-operations-manager/) in March 2022 along with WNTR programming duties. Prior to joining Cumulus, Layfield programmed iHeartMedia CHR ?Channel 96.1? WHQC and Variety Hits ?102.9 The Lake? WLKO Charlotte NC from 2011-18 and has also programmed for iHeart at KSLZ St. Louis and WRVQ/WMXB Richmond, and held positions at KHTS-FM San Diego, WKBQ St. Louis, WYHY/WRVW Nashville, and WZJZ Fort Myers.
