https://radioinsight.com/wp-content/images/2023/11/kega-200x200.jpgBroadway Media Country “101.5 The Eagle (https://1015theeagle.com)” KEGA Oakley/Salt Lake City entered all-Christmas mode at 12pm today.
Positioned as a “Utah Country Christmas,” the station began with Brett Eldredge’s version of
“It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas”. KEGA becomes the second station in Salt Lake City to enter all-holiday mode following last week’s move at iHeartMedia AC “My 99.5 (https://my995fm.iheart.com)” KJMY with Bonneville AC “FM 100.3 (https://fm100.com)” KSFI soon to follow.
KEGA is one of three Country stations in the Salt Lake City market emphasizing golds to differentiate and currently ranks 21st in the market with a 1.8 share. Cumulus Media’s “93.3 The Bull (https://www.933thebull.com)” KUBL is fifth with a 6.1 and KSOP Inc.’s “Z104 (https://www.z104country.com)” KSOP-FM is tenth with a 3.9 in the October 2023 Nielsen Audio ratings (https://radioinsight.com/ratings/salt-lake-city/).
It is expected that KEGA will not exit holiday mode the way it entered. The station applied on Thursday to change call letters to KNAH as of November 24. Is Kroeger Media’s “Hank-FM (http://www.hankfmradio.com)” Classic Country brand on its way in?
