The company job posting (https://careers-audacy.icims.com/jobs/5701/brand-manager-on-air-talent/job) states, “WKBU in New Orleans is in search of a dynamic, forward thinking leader to take this brand into the next evolution of classic rock over the airwaves and its digital footprint. We are looking for an innovative strategic thinker with a passion for classic rock to reimagine how we connect with and engage audiences for even greater success. The Brand Manager oversees music strategy with an eye towards audience and revenue growth and engagement on all platforms. This is a phenomenal opportunity to take the reins of a long-running brand with strong ties to its local community and lead it to greater heights with even deeper connections with its audience.”
The position was most recently held by Kat Vance, who exited last week. Vance had been with WKBU since 2007 after stints at multiple Rock stations in her native New England.
The station also recently dropped the “93.3 The Planet (https://www.audacy.com/933theplanetrocks)” WTPT Greenville SC based “The Rise Guys” from mornings. The show, hosted by Mattman, Nine, Fatboy and Paige, was added to the WKBU lineup in December 2021 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/216732/rise-guys-expand-to-wkbu-john-osterlind-to-move-to-wwl/). WKBU’s lineup currently features Ashley O in from 830am-12pm, WZJK Minneapolis based Remy Maxwell in afternoons from 3-7pm, and Stoneman from 7-10pm.
