https://radioinsight.com/wp-content/images/2023/10/kppv-200x200.jpgEntravision and Prescott Valley Broadcasting Company’s multi-frequency signal shift in Arizona has been completed.
The move, which was triggered by Entravision’s January 2018 proposal to upgrade “La Suavecita (https://elboton.com/phoenix/radiolasuavecita/)” 107.1 KVVA-FM Apache Junction from a Class C3 to C2 by moving to the South Mountain tower farm in Phoenix with 2.05kW/508m (https://fccdata.org/?lang=en&appid=573edb5b4dbd431c8ce6c1b6063ebeb7&fa cid=1331) with a city-of-license change to Sun Lakes. To make that move possible, Entravision proposed to move 106.9 KDVA Buckeye to 106.7 with no changes to its 6kW/93m (https://fccdata.org/?lang=en&appid=5375b9a772c9410d9cf9c1b6063ebeb7&fa cid=2750) facilities and issued an order to show cause to Prescott Valley Broadcasting Company AC “106.7 The Mix (https://kppv.com)” KPPV Prescott Valley to 106.9.
That triggered a back and forth with the FCC over what costs KPPV would be reimbursed by Entravision for the forced relocation of its signal while Prescott Valley Broadcasting sought the use of an escrow account with respect to the required reimbursement of costs. The final FCC order in regards to the stations came in September 2022 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/242350/fcc-report-9-18-what-gets-reimbursed-for-a-forced-signal-change/) ordering Entravision to pay $10,815 within 20 days to reimburse costs related to the forced move, while PVBC failed to meet the burden of proof for the costs associated with additional items, but many of the marketing materials for the station will need to be compensated for by Entravision once they have proper invoices and not just quotes.
In addition to KPPV moving to 106.9, co-owned Spanish Adult Hits “Juan 107.1 (http://juan107.com)” K296GN/KPPV-HD3 has moved to 106.5.
