McKibbin Media Group (MMG) has announced it is launching a new Morning Show on its flagship station, K105.3 FM, on Monday, October 23. The K105.3 Morning Show will now feature Jared (J-Rod) Hammond and newly hired radio veteran Micki Morgret as co-hosts of the show, bringing a new flare and excitement to the program.
Hammond, a Jackson, Mich. native and graduate of Northwest High School, has been employed at McKibbin Media Group (Jackson radio) for over 20 years. He is being promoted to mornings on K105.3 (6-10 a.m. M-F) after serving for nearly 20 years as host of the station?s afternoon show featuring the Drive at Five. His promotion to the Morning Show is the next step in the evolution of Hammond on the Jackson airwaves. He will serve as the Program Director for K105.3.
?I?m excited to start this new journey as host of the K105.3 Morning Show,? Hammond said. ?It?s the next chapter in my broadcasting career and I?m ready to get started. Micki and I will bring a lot of veteran experience to the show and give Jackson an entertaining and music-filled show that listeners will enjoy.?
Morgret, a native of Hudson, Mich., comes to MMG and K105.3 FM with over 30 years of radio broadcast experience. She served in a variety of capacities in her radio career with stops in Ohio, Illinois and Wisconsin, among others. Her career started in Adrian, Mich.
?I came back to Michigan recently to be closer to family and left the radio industry as a result,? Morgret said. ?Since I?ve been back, I?ve had the itch to get back into broadcasting, which is where my heart lies, and was excited when this opportunity opened up at K105.3. You never can get radio out of your system completely so this is perfect for me at this point in my career. I can?t wait to get started with J-Rod and the entire MMG team.?
Morgret will also serve as host of the middays (10 a.m. ? 2 p.m.) on 95.9 FM The Power Cow, Jackson?s country music station.
Additionally, K105.3 will also feature Marc Daly as new host of the Afternoon Show featuring the Drive at Five from 3-7 p.m. Monday-Friday.
