The two stations were part of the “Allegheny News Talk Sports Network” along with 1230 WTIV/105.3 W287DC Titusville. The new format effectively replaces Hot AC ?Majic? 99.3 WHMJ Franklin and 104.5 WXMJ Cambridge Springs/Meadville in the company’s cluster. WHMJ, WXMJ, and WTIV/W287DC along with News/Talk 1200 WKST/97.9 W250CW New Castle flipped (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/260042/a-bigger-wuzz-then-there-was-in-northwest-pa/) to Classic Hits “WUZZ Radio (https://wuzzradio.com)” earlier this week. The company also flipped the former Classic Hits 1280 WUZZ/97.5 W248DJ New Castle to a simulcast Classic Country ?Wille 95.1 (https://mywillieradio.com)? WYLE Grove City with WUZZ and WKST swapping call letters.
The new “Pop” joins similarly branded sister stations in Altoona/Johnstown (http://www.mypopradio.com), Bloomsburg (http://www.thisispopradio.com), Du Bois (https://popradiopa.com), and State College (http://www.itspopradio.com) PA, Olean NY (https://popradio101.com), and Frankfort KY (https://popradioky.com). Like the others, WFRA/WMGW will carry Compass Media Networks’ Anna & Raven in mornings and Pop Crush Nights. WNKI Elmira NY afternoon host Matt Dishler adds middays in Northwest PA, while WMXO Olean PD/afternoon host Sammy Stone will host afternoons.
