WJHT dropped its former CHR “Hot 92.1” identity on May 5 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/251667/wntj-prepares-to-pop-as-seven-mountains-revamps-johnstown-cluster/) when the former News/Talk WNTJ/W283CX became “Pop Radio“. It had been running the loop of construction sounds (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K79kLebh20M&t=430s) for the past five months similar to ones the company aired earlier this year in State College PA on the stations it has since divested.
The addition of WJHT returns the format to a broader area of the region beyond W283CX’s coverage of greater Johnstown. The Altoona/Johnstown version of the brand features Compass Media Networks’ Anna & Raven in mornings, Lori Rose in middays, Russ Beckett in afternoons, and Compass’ Pop Crush Nights with Lauryn Snapp.
