The two stations were severely damaged by a microburst storm July 23, 2022 with the studio building and tower of 920 KLMR being completely destroyed. Former owners 25-7 Media surrendered the two licenses to the FCC in September stating, ?Studios are a complete loss. Unable to restore service for both KLMR-AM (920) & KLMR-FM (93.5) 25-7 Media requesting to cancel both licenses, return spectrum, and release call letters.? They then requested to have the licenses restored within the 30 day window to do so and would sell the licenses (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/246805/local-buyers-acquire-colorado-stations-destroyed-in-microburst/) to Riverside in January for $30,000.
920 KLMR (https://myklmr.com/), which most recently featured a News/Talk format, has returned to its former Classic Country “The Country Giant” identity. The station will feature the “Anything Goes Morning Show” and retains Premiere Networks’ “Coast to Coast AM” with George Noory in overnights.
93.5 KLMR-FM, which most recently was Hot AC “93.5 The Heat“, has returned as Classic Hits “Kool 93.5“. KLMR-FM is running John Tesh’s “Intelligence For Your Life” in mornings, Premiere Networks’ Delilah in evenings, with weekends featuring Classic American Top 40 with Casey Kasem and Connie Selleca’s “Intelligence for your Health”.
Both stations will feature a local swap shop in afternoons, Western AG Network farm reports, and local news in a partnership with The Prowers Journal.
Riverside Communications is owned by Dan and Kathy Cochell and Kirk and Andrea Crespin. Dan Cochell currently serves as afternoon news anchor for News Press & Gazette News/Talk 105.5 KRDO-FM Security/Colorado Springs after a previous stint in mornings from 2005 to 2012 and has also worked on-air at KOA Denver and as General Manager of 1580 KREL Colorado Springs. He also worked at the stations in Lamar in the 1990s and will serve as General Manager for the new company. Kirk Crespin is currently the mayor of Lamar and works as IT Officer for a local bank.
