Silent Notificationshttps://radioinsight.com/wp-content/images/2020/05/fccseal2020-200x200.pngThe bankruptcy trustee of Ed Stolz’s Silver State Broadcasting’s has filed Silent STA’s for 790 KBET Winchester/103.1 K276GX Las Vegas and 104.3 KFRH North Las Vegas NV noting that Stolz has not complied with legal obligations under bankruptcy law and to the bankruptcy court to identify and turn over assets and information regarding the bankruptcy estate in general, nor the stations in particular, and has been largely uncooperative, if not obstructionist, to the process. The third-party contracted to operate the stations were required to go to the stations and get them in operating condition, but as of the end of August had failed to do so, so a third party was schedule to do a field inspection on August 29 and 30 and noted that KBET/K276GX were off the air and KFRH was not transmitting programming (but may be transmitting a carrier wave) but due to the cases were unsure how long the stations have not been operating properly.
The filings also not that all of the transmission equipment for KBET and its translator were either missing or heavily vandalized leaving little to no working equipment and electrical service was cut off at some point prior to the trustee taking over in June. The site was also stripped of all of its copper and had a bullet hole that destroyed its generator. For KFRH, the filing notes it appears the station lost its use of its licensed site on Mount Potosi back in July 2022 due to nonpayment, but Crown Castle indicated to the trustee that the station could return upon “satisfactory arrangements being made with an acceptable buyer for use to resume.” The station has an auxiliary facility on Arden Peak that it wishes to resume operations from via STA (which was not filed for a previous use after July 2022 until the termination of the dead carrier) with 1.7kW/1126m once it can begin operating.
