https://radioinsight.com/wp-content/images/2023/08/krlc-200x200.jpgMcVey Entertainment Group will sign-off Classic Country 1350 KRLC/93.1 K226CT Lewiston ID today following the loss of its tower site.
The company states it intends to attempt to relocate the station, but no filing has been made yet.
The company intends to move their “Opinion Please” show and Seattle Mariners baseball to sister Conservative Talk 950 KOZE (https://www.koze.com)/95.5 K238CI. The station states that hosts Keith Warnock and ‘Toe Tappin’ Tommy Tucker will be “on-hiatus” as well as their Tradio “Call-In Classifieds” show.
The McVey Entertainment Group regrets to inform the public that KRLC Hometown Radio will be going off the air the evening of August 31st for an unknown amount of time.
The main reason is that relocating an AM radio station and its equipment is a very long and expensive process. The two FM stations, Canyon Country 106.9 and The River 105.1, both part of the McVey Entertainment Group, have been moved to the company?s Snake River Avenue location, but KRLC falls under different rules because it?s main signal originates from an AM transmitter.
Even though KRLC has an FM signal (93.1), Federal Communication Commission rules don?t allow separating the two broadcast signals.
In a company-wide email, station owners expressed their ?regret, and are as disappointed as KRLC?s loyal listeners.?
All that can be done is being done to hopefully, bring back KRLC at some point in the future.
Seattle Mariners Baseball will be moving to 95.5 FM/AM 950 KOZE soon.
