KCSN Northridge/KSBR Mission Viejo CA has announced the addition of Hillary Gordon as Director of Marketing, Promotions and Engagement.
Gordon joins KCSN/KSBR from Alternative 92.9 KJEE (https://kjee.com) Montecito/Santa Barbara, where she also started her career in 2000. Public, member-supported 88.5FM, The SoCal Sound, has added broadcast veteran Hillary Gordon to its leadership team as the station?s new director of marketing, promotions and engagement.
After a successful run as an executive at Cumulus Media, Gordon brings marketing, on-air and Adult Album Alternative (Triple-A) experience to the new post. Gordon?s breadth of experience includes roles at Warner Music Group, CBS, Los Angeles Times, Rhino Records, Cumulus, and now, the award-winning SoCal Sound.
?As a Southern California native, and a huge Triple-A nerd, I?ve been a fan of The SoCal Sound for years,? Gordon said. ?Not only is the music top-notch, but the folks here are some of the most passionate and innovative in the industry.?
88.5FM general manager Patrick Osburn said the station is ?thrilled to have her on the team.?
?We are very excited with Hillary?s deep love and understanding for the music,? Osburn said. ?She also has a deep understanding of the diversity that the Triple-A format allows us to play.?
Program Director Marc ?Mookie? Kaczor echoed a similar sentiment about Gordon?s arrival at the station.
?Hillary?s experience and ability is just what The SoCal Sound needs. We?re on a mission to take public media to the next level here in Los Angeles and Orange County,? Kaczor said. ?Hillary is going to shine.?
The timing of Gordon?s new role could not be better, Osburn said, as she joins The SoCal Sound during a period when the station has achieved major industry benchmarks.* The station was recently named national ?Non-Comm Music Station of the Year? among outlets in the Triple A format for the second year in a row. The SoCal Sound is reaching music discovery fans from Ventura to San Clemente.* The partnership between CSUN and Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, and their nearby towers/antennas create the opportunity to reach audiences all over Southern California.
?We have a diverse audience?including members, donors, subscribers and sponsors?to stay engaged with,? Osborn said. ?I think Hillary will be a great help to an already busy team.?
