Stone, who currently hosts “Stoney & Jansen with Heather” alongside Jon Jansen and Heather Park, will move into a limited role at the station following the Super Bowl. He has been in mornings at WXYT-FM since 2009 alongside multiple co-hosts including Bill McAllister, Sara Fouracre, Jamie Samuelsen, and in its most recent iteration with Jansen and Park since October 2020 (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/198928/jon-jansen-joins-97-1-the-ticket-detroit-for-mornings/). He previously spent fifteen years at 1130 WDFN Detroit mostly teaming with Bob ‘Wojo’ Wojnowski after beginning his career as a television producer for WRC Washington and WDIV Detroit.
Stone will add a new role this year as host of WXYT’s Detroit Lions postgame show with WJBK-TV’s Jennifer Hammond as part of expanded game-day coverage announced today. Once he steps down from mornings, he will continue to serve as a fill-in host at the station.
Audacy?s 97.1 The Ticket (WXYT-FM), the flagship radio station of the Detroit Lions, has unveiled special Lions gameday programming for the 2023 season.
Programming is headlined by the ?Lions Pregame Show,? featuring on-air hosts Rico Beard and Jim Costa before all non-primetime regular season games. Select pregame shows will broadcast from various locations throughout the city. Mike Stone and FOX 2 Detroit?s Jennifer Hammond will break down the action following each game. Postgame coverage for all home games will broadcast live from the Wynnbet Sports Bar at Ford Field.
