https://radioinsight.com/wp-content/images/2023/07/1049thehorn-200x200.jpgWith Genuine Austin Radio preparing to flip 104.9 KTXX-FM Bee Cave/Austin TX from Sports “The Horn (https://hornfm.com)” to an unannounced format on August 1, a pair of hosts have departed the station.
Morning co-host Bucky Godblot and afternoon co-host Mike Hardge said farewell to listeners on Friday, July 28. Godblot joined KTXX-FM in 2013 after previously hosting mornings at iHeartMedia’s “1300 The Zone (https://am1300thezone.iheart.com)” KVET and has been teaming with Erin Hogan. Godblot was previously a running backs coach for Boston College and the University of Texas.
Hardge played professional baseball for twelve years before moving into coaching and medical sales. He co-hosted mornings at KVET from 2017 to 2020. After a brief six month stint back with KVET and sister KTKR San Antonio in 2021, he would join Rod Babers for “Ball Don’t Lie” in afternoons in February 2022.
“The Horn” format will continue on 1260 KTAE Elgin/101.9 K270CO Round Rock with a mix of local and syndicated shows along with Texas Rangers baseball. The station lost its play-by-play rights (https://radioinsight.com/headlines/254665/university-of-texas-sports-moves-to-iheartmedia-austin/) to the University of Texas coinciding with the announcement earlier this month of the impending flip of KTXX-FM.
